So true - I found mine at a thrift store. $4 - Yea!
Happy hunting! : )
I also used a wallet, with magnetic strips. The only problem I find is storing the thread with it. I keep the thread on the ball, so I always had a mess. I'm now using a lunch box. I put magnetic strips in it, but I find that I just leave them in the tube they came in. I now have room for several balls of thread. Added bonus... it is bright orange so I won't misplace it like I did with the eye glass case (haven't seen that in about 6 months). sigh.
We can learn from our dogs: wag more, bark less.
A lunch box is a great idea! I'll have to remember that when I am working on a big project and need more thread. : )
I made my own travel case with fabric scraps and felt and really dodgy sewing skills

Very nice case, designbyfee. It holds exactly what a needle tatter needs.
Very nice travel case.

I bought an extra eyeglass case and glued magnet strips to the inside to hold my needles. The case will hold 3 balls of #8 perle cotton, scissors, picot gauge, needle threader, a home made spool holder (I kept dropping my thread and it ended up rolling across the room way too many times) and a pattern (carefully folded to fit).

Cool! Very compact. And I love your spool holder. What a smart idea!
Running off to buy magnets strips...
