Default Tatting teacher in Seattle, WA (Sometimes in LA and San Diego).

Just moved up here from Los Angeles and I'll be going back down there a bit still for work. Used to teach at Piecemakers in Costa Mesa. My parents live in San Diego so I visit there a fair bit and would be happy to meet up with someone for a tatting lesson.

I haven't had a chance to go to a meeting yet, but the Lacemakers of Puget Sound would also be a good group to network with. http://www.lacemakers.org/ They meet the fourth Saturday of every month in Kent, WA. Maybe I'll see you there sometime!

Yup. I go there whenever I can. (Though I just moved up here, I've been visiting for extended periods of time for the last two years). You should definitely try to make it sometime, it's lots of fun! They also have a satellite group, the Northend Lacers that meets the second Friday of every month in Everett at the Hilton Firestation. Looks like that's where you are so that might be easier for you to make it to. The address is on the left hand side of the Lacemakers webpage, lacemakers.org and they have a yahoo group that you can join here for reminders about their meetings: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/northendlacers/ Unfortunately I kept missing their meetings when I was visiting and their last meeting was on my boyfriend's birthday, but now that I'm up here permanently I'll be able to make it to a lot more.

Do you know of any groups to the south? Tacoma or Olympia, or even down towards Longview or Vancouver (WA)?

There's the Portland Lace Society in the Portland area. The IOLI Bulletin used to show a group in Vancouver called The Volcano Lacemakers but I don't see them in the newest handbook that just came this week. I do know of one tatter in Yacolt, WA. Where abouts are you located?

Thanks for the reply, Patti. We live in Chehalis, which is halfway between Seattle and Portland. I'll have to look up the Portland Lace Society and see when they meet...hmmm. Thanks so much for the tip.

I can't even remember the last LPS meeting I made it to. It's been a few years. And it's unlikely I will get back over until October when I'm scheduled to teach. Any ideas for a class?

And don't forget the Shuttlebird's workshop in April. Check out all the info at www.shuttlebirds.com
