That's a great SET Beebee, and creator Sue Hanson. Cute lanyards for them all. You do need something colorful to keep your favorites from getting lost below chair cushions, If you have good jump rings, you can put those through the holes, too. Toughest part is making the hole... Price is right if it gets lost "temporarily" the two styles... straight, and stairstep, are well illustrated. i like the straight ones best myself. For critical sets when needle tatting, I hold it against the needle as I make the first 1/2 stitch. When shuttle tatting, some tatters hold it perpendicular, others parallel. One gives a picot twice as long as the other. Don't ask me to remember which is which now.

Thanks Janet, BeeBee and Judy. I like the idea of making my own picot gauges. I hope I can find something pretty on hand to use. The links that you forwarded are really useful. Will check out during the weekend. Time to shop.

wow, youngauntie and BeeBee... Anybody know if tatting thread would be duty free --if you stuffed your suitcase with it and we'd need to find a flight attendant who wanted to foster more tatting worldwide?

Judy, I think different countries will have different tax laws. http://www.pwccustoms.com/home/eng/wms_my.html
For Malaysia Import Sales Tax is payable on imported goods at the rates of 5%, 10% or 15% but many are exempted, depending on classification. Licensed manufacturer are eligible for exemption on raw materials and components to avoid tax cascading. To know more detail need to read the Custom Act

    Thank you Leeanne.

BeeBee luckily no tax for overseas purchase in HK. I am not sure however if US tax will be imposed when we make a purchase with a US company online.

That plastic one with the green butterfly attached, is a plastic mesh that you can buy in craft shops. It is used to make mesh bags that you sew with raffia.
