Default Max you would pay for tatting shuttle

I was just browsing eBay for tatting related items and ran into this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Unusual-Tatt...c#ht_500wt_922

Can you believe the current bid? The description doesn't Say it's an antique but it does look old.

I can't believe this bid. These are really serious collectors bidding on this shuttle. Wonder if they are also tatters. Can't imagine anyone putting that much money into a tatting shuttle, no matter how old or unusual it is.

Well, it looks to be silver plate and not sterling silver, so I doubt the amount of silver is really part of the value. It's clever. but US$ 2045????????

I can't believe it an actual antique tatting shuttle either. Years ago (probably in the late 70's, early 80's) this country went through a phaze where old silverwear was re-purposed. I have a plated silver fork with that exact design on it. Very injenious use of fork/spoon handles, but I don't think it is an antique....rediculous bid though...

It looks to me like to cutlery handles put together to make a shuttle. I have cutlery that looks just like this. Seems like an awful lot of money when it's not even silver...

It could be made out of diamonds and I still wouldn't pay even a fraction of that price.....I don't even buy a cheap clover 2-pack unless I have a 40% off coupon! HA! Am I cheep or what!

Unbeliable I won't be bidding for it, I agree it does look like two knife handles put together. I wonder who will buy it, I don't think they will get a bargin, as I am sure it's not real silver.

The description plainly states silver plated brass. Unusual design and ingenious, looks like it would hold well too.

Good luck to the seller... Ebay is a funny place. Prices on things are all over the map. Two identical items can sell for wildly different prices.
