Default Pattern for something like this?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had a needle tatted pattern for something like this. Perhaps with some rings in it because I think this looks like it would have to be all chains. I'm a cook and would love to be able to wear something pretty over my hair instead of a regular net. Any help would be appreciate. I'm a very new tatter and only do needle if that makes a difference.

You could create something like this using the mignonette stitch. You could customize it to be as big or small as you need it, and finish it around the top with your favorite bookmark pattern or something like that.

Thanks so much for your response. I don't know what a mignonette stitch is and I don't think I can customize anything yet. I could probably make something bigger or smaller, but that is about it. I've only been tatting for about 3 weeks.
    Nice to meet you :)

I see something like a stocking cap where the back falls down. Start at the hairband where you will insert elastic or a ribbon, probably a double row of rings whose length is a little larger than your head. Then make a few rows of mignonette. The number of rows would depend on how much bare thread you leave between rings. After you have started the "bag" part, every so often make a row of mignonette that only goes across the top half of the bag to make it longer on the top than it is on the bottom. After there partial increase rows, make more full rows of mignonette and increase by only working the top half in rows back and forth a couple more times. Then start decreasing the number of mignonette stitches in each row until only about 10 remain. Thread the end through the last stitches, secure it well and you have a sack snood.

Here's a great tutorial video for the mignonette. It is for the shuttle (I can't find one for needle.) But it will hopefully give you the basic idea. With a needle, you use the cut-thread method. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjjW_107exs&feature=plcp

Almost any doily pattern that you like can be made into a hair snood (which is what that type of hair 'net' is called). Use elastic thread or a ribbon to match/coordinate your clothing and thread it through the outer portion of the doily. Patty has some great ideas too!
    Happy Tatting!!
