Hello All Thank you so much. I am not sure what I was thinking, but I have a better idea of what to do with four (or more) shuttles now. I see that there is more that one way to use them; Celtic tatting in different colors, that gorgeous multi-color lattice tatting and I had heard of encapsulation but had never seen it. That is fascinating! I need to finish my current project but I will play with the multi-color lattice.

Sherry Pence has a new book out Branching Encapsulation that most patterns call for more than 2 shuttles. I've been working through it lately. She suggests using a ziplock sandwich bag to keep the extra shuttles from tangling up. She has it for sale in her Etsy shop and shows it on her blog Tatting Tales~All Things Tatting

Yes - that's it, thank you Jon! 6 colours, 6 pairs of shuttles - wristvares wery much in need! It looks lovely though
I've tried a scrunchie around my wrist, but it didn't do as good a job as an earring bag (a small bag with drawstrings). I haven't tried a towelling wristband, though. I'll keep that in mind!
