More practice

Today has been a day of practicing new things. I've been practicing split rings because I want to do a dragon and a cross, both of which contain SR's. The dragon needs a dimple ring but I've read and watched the video and that is just going to have to wait a while longer
The cross (one of many I want to do) is Julie Patterson's "Hearts and Flowers" and I was just wondering if I did this correctly. Its just on practive thread...not actually making it at the moment. The directiosn say: ch 4+8; throw off ring with chain thread shuttle: ring 4-4-4-4 cl; continue chain. So does what I have so far look like I did it correctly?
