Default how do I avoid twisting picot?

    2012-08-06_11-17-46_562.jpg
Working on a phone so I hope I have the right picture! How do I connect the picots from one petal to the picot of the other petal without twisting the picot? I know how to attach but my picot twists most of the time in this situation. Is there a trick to avoid this? I'm a needle tatter.

Yup I'll try that. Just know I'm doing something wrong. Thanks!

Sorry. In some cases a tatter has to fold over the end their attaching to and then make the attach. Then unfold it and continue the ring. I can't see the whole work you're doing, so I'm not sure if that will work. Also, I don't shuttle tat, so if that doesn't work, you will hear from someone who does needle tatting. Like Carolivy.

I make the picot very small, just big enough for the thread to go thru and use a small crochet hook to catch the thread. I'm just particular about joining. I don't like to see a big loop at the part where I joined! :P

Here's the method I use, and it works for both needle and shuttle. Your situation looks like an inside corner. Looks like the needle is on the left side. Are you left handed? First thing I would do is flip it over so that my needle is on the right instead of the left. Now, fold the right side over the left side so that the picot you want to join to is directly under your needle, now you can do a regular join. Linda Davies, member here, has a really good video. Try a search for a link to it here at In Tatters.
