Default The Twentieth Day of December pattern (page 28) in 24 Snowflakes by Lene Bjorn

I have been studying this pattern all evening and trying to figure out how to do the second round. If any of you have done this snowflake, could you help me with the order of the rings and chains. I've tried looking at the letters and have become even more confused. Are the chains and rings with two letters split chains and split rings? But even that doesn't make sense to me. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I have not tatted the snowflake, but I'm looking in the book and it appears the chains with two letters (M/Q, for example) calls for the "False Chain" method on page eight and the double-lettered ring (N/P) is a ring on rong from page 6, so SCMR with a thrown-off ring.

*N P ring would be the SCMR with Ring O being the floating/thrown-off ring done (one with the other shuttle).

Thank you both for your help! Now this pattern makes much more sense to me. . . I love working from diagrammed patterns, but once in a while I just get stuck! Thank goodness for Intatters where there is always someone willing to help.
