Default need help for this pattern...

    hi,
In this pattern we use SCMR. I know for needle tatters SCMR is a normal ring but here it use a second shuttle too for SCMR.
    Here is the pattern :

I don't understand how to do this pattern with needle ? Is it possible to do it ?
How to do SCMR 2 bp 2 bp 2 bp 2 then a ring (4 LP 4) and then resume the SCMR 2 bp 2 bp 2 bp 2 ?????

Can you help me please ?
    Tks !!!!!!!!

on needle you have to do some tricks.

you are going to start the first part of the chain...2 bp 2 bp 2 bp 2 , the pull the needle through like you are finishing the chain...BUT you need something to hold the loop..place a paperclip. tension.

then set the needle right up the the last stitch, make the ring 4 lp 4. finish the ring like you noramlly would.

then you continue the rest of the SCMR... 2 bp 2 bp 2 bp 2, now carefully take out the paper clip place holder and thread the needle through, like you were completing a ring. then that element should be done.
we are the few, we are the proud, we are TATTERS!

Well, from the shuttle point of view and SCMR that is going to throw off a ring should be worked with 2 shuttles. The second shuttle works as the ball thread most of the time, but while making an SCMR, the second shuttle can then throw off a ring and the continue acting as the ball thread for the rest of the SCMR.

From a needle point of view, since you do SCMR like breathing, the thing is to move your needle as stated in the previous post or else have 2 needles. These are earrings and don't require huge amounts of thread, so it would be pretty simple to have both thread on individual needles and the needle holding the ball thread could then simply throw off a ring and continue being the ball thread.

PattyD is correct. I haven't tackled this one yet, but I just finished Marilee Rockley's Joyful Bell. It also has split rings, and floating rings, and might be something to practice on without the beads complication unless you're "fluent" in using two needles. Normally you would put all your beads on the ball thread (if you want the beads on picots) and then start out, pulling up the beads as you need them. However... HOWEVER if you have floating rings, you can't do that. You have to load the beads for floating rings just before you start the floating rings, and there can't be any extras, either. You use your second needle to load the beads, then use it in the normal way to make the floating ring. In the pattern above, each time is says to make a ring using a second shuttle, you use a second needle, with thread cut off the ball. Before you cut it, you need to consider how much you need for the remainder of the item since it will be detached from the ball, and you can't glue it back on.. hehe...Better too much than too little, but way..too much.. is harder to handle. I'll try to get to th is tomorrow.
